Geary’s Bakery, one of the UK’s biggest independent craft bakeries, called us into their Leicester headquarters to help them pull off a huge upgrade to their CCTV system and to install access control on site.
With security, staff protection and burglary defence at the top of Geary’s priorities, the plan was to fit the site out with a total of 45 CCTV cameras, to cover all key areas of the building.
Let’s get into the details of the CCTV system we installed:
External Analogue Bullet Cameras
HD 5Mp infra-red turret cameras with zoom lenses give a field of view of 98-26°, which are fitted with IR LEDs that allow them to be used in total darkness up to 60m.
External IP Bullet Cameras
HD 5Mp and 8Mp infra-red bullet cameras with fixed lenses, giving a field of view of 87°. These cameras are fitted with IR LEDs that allow the cameras to be used in total darkness up to 90m.
Internal IP and Analogue Turret Cameras
HD 5Mp infra-red turret cameras with a fixed lens, giving a field of view of 106°. The cameras are fitted with IR LEDs that allow them to be used in total darkness up to 40m. The cameras also have a built-in microphone, so they will record audio and video.
Of course, there is more to installing a CCTV system than just installing the cameras themselves! To ensure the efficient and smooth running of these 45 cameras, we installed a range of power supplies across the site, POE switches for the various IP cameras, NVR & DVR recorders with over 50TB of storage and linked the system up to the internet for easy app/online viewing.
On to the access control system…
Our team of experienced engineers installed an access control system to two locations on site to make monitoring and managing access to the building easy for the Geary’s Bakery team.
We supplied and installed:
- Paxton door controllers for each door.
- proximity readers located on the outside of each door.
- Touchless request to exit button and a Green Break Glass call point on the unsecured side of each door.
- Maglock and a bolt-style locks.
- Power supply for the system.
