EV Cost Savings

The upfront cost of buying an electric vehicle isn’t cheap, but you should see savings coming back in while you’re using it. As well as saving on fuel costs, you’ll benefit from reduced maintenance costs and could be exempt from paying vehicle tax in the UK.

If you’re a company car driver in the UK, converting to a fully electric vehicle means you could also save £1,000s in tax relief. After April 2020 electric cars will attract a 0% P11D value — meaning you won’t pay any class 1A NIC or Benefit in Kind (BIK) tax. This will be followed by a 1% P11D value the following year and 2% the year after.

EV Charging Speeds

Slow EV Charging

Only recommended for emergency charging at home or work; it usually takes 6-24+ hours to fully charge a vehicle.

Fast/SuperFast EV Charging

The preferred method of charging at home or work; best suited for overnight or top-up charging. Depending on the model it can charge an electric vehicle from flat to 100% in around 2-6 hours.

Rapid EV Charging

Rapid DC and AC chargers provide high power direct current (DC) or alternating current (AC). Rapid Charges can charge an electric vehicle to around 80% in 20-30 minutes.
