Who we are

Blaby Electrical, uses and is responsible for certain personal information provided by you. When we use such information we are regulated under the Data Protection Act 1998 and General Data Protection Regulations which applies across the European Union (including the United Kingdom) and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.

We operate as an NIC EIC Electrical contractor and security SSAIB Installer for the purposes of commercial, industrial and domestic sites.

We will only use your data should you provide your consent to do so. By entering into a contract with us you give us your consent, subject to the terms of this notice.

The personal information we collect and use

Information collected by us

In the course of our operations, to complete work, we may collect the following personal information when you provide to us:

  • Names, email addresses and residential addresses
  • Bank details
  • Certifications of properties, photographs and plans
  • Information pertaining to the installation of alarm systems by way of: Keyfobs, keys, alarm codes, site photographs, internet access, monitoring systems, alarm information and CCTV Software and hosting
  • We may require further information to assist in our completion of the work which you have instructed us to undertake

How we use your personal information

We use your information:

  • For the sole purpose of undertaking the work which you have instructed us to complete.
  • To inform you that further work needs to be undertaken.

Who we share your personal information with:

We routinely share your personal information with third parties solely for the above purposes.

Should you require a list of the third parties who we share your data with, please contact us accordingly.

We will share personal information with law enforcement or other authorities if required by applicable law.

We will not share your personal information with any other third party.

Whether information has to be provided by you, and if so why

The provision of your name, address, delivery address and email address is required from you to enable us to undertake the work which you have instructed us for. We will inform you at the point of collecting information from you, whether you are required to provide the information to us.

How long your personal information will be kept

  • We will hold your name, address and contact details for the period of 10 years for registration compliance purposes and in accordance with applicable tax law.

Reasons we can collect and use your personal information

We rely on Article 6 of the Regulations as the lawful basis on which we collect and use your name, address, delivery address and email address. That is, it is a fundamental part of the contract between us and you that we can use your personal information. Our legitimate interests are to provide any electrical and or security systems for our customers.

How we store your personal data

Your personal data will be stored on our Company Server which can be accessed by our employees.

  • access to your personal information and to certain other supplementary information that this Privacy Notice is already designed to address

  • object in certain other situations to our continued processing of your personal information
  • otherwise restrict our processing of your personal information in certain circumstances

Keeping your personal information secure

We have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.
